On September 9, 2023, Lions members from District 5M9 will be coming together to pack 130,000+ meals that will ultimately be distributed to communities within 5M9.
This is a district wide event. We are hoping to have all 64 clubs within 5M9 participate.
Those clubs that sign up to participate will also be bringing the packed meals BACK TO THEIR communities for distribution.
As Lions, we know that HUNGER is a global cause for our service organization. This meal packing event allows us, as Lions, to have direct impact on food insecurity
right in the communities that we live.
We will pack the food – we will distribute the food. Our communities will be receiving the food.

There are 3 shifts available to choose from:
- 9 am – 10 am
- 10 am – 11 am
- 11 am – 12 pm
The event will be held in Nisswa, MN. (~12 miles north of Brainerd).
We need over 300 Lion volunteers to make this event a SUCCESS. Lions and immediate family members are invited to sign up.
The meal packing will take place at the Nisswa Community Center. We will also be having a pancake breakfast that morning, provided by the Nisswa Fire Department.
All ages are welcome at the pancake breakfast; but: Volunteers must be 12 years old+ to participate in the meal packing event.
For those that have kids under 12 years of age, there is a great playground right next to the Community Center in the Nisswa Park.
