What We're About

Members of the Crosslake-Ideal Lions Club volunteer their time to perform a variety of community service activities. At the same time, our Club provides a great way to network and meet others that share the desire to make a difference.

As a Lion, you will make life better for others while enriching your own life in the process. YOU can make a difference.
For more information on becoming a Lion and you already know someone in the Lions, just tell them you want to check us out. It’s that easy and we look forward to seeing you at our next gathering.

Or if you wish to attend a meeting or service project to learn more, please email us at: info@crosslakeideallions.org

The Lions motto is “We Serve”. To Lions, “We Serve” is not only a motto, but a definition and philosophy. We invite men and women to serve their community without the personal financial reward. We encourage you to join the Crosslake-Ideal Lions Club.

Lions International Story - A Truly Good History

Our history is a long one. And a proud one. For over 100 years, we’ve served with uncommon kindness, putting the needs of our neighbors, our communities and our world first. We look back at our storied past with pride, but we know it’s only the beginning. Every day, we’re building on our legacy with the goal of making an even greater impact in the future.

MISSION

To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.

VISION

To be the global leader in community and humanitarian service.

Our Core Values

Lions meet the needs of local communities and the world every day because they share a core belief – to serve their community.

Always Open

We believe in the power of great ideas and that these ideas can come from anyone, anywhere, at any time.

Listen, Act, Learn. Repeat.

We continually experiment. We fail quickly and productively. We use data and feedback to guide our course.

Never Settle

We have an obligation to question the rules, change them for the better, raise the bar, play a different game, and play it better than anyone thinks is possible.

Committed to WOW

We act promptly, enthusiastically, and professionally so people are WOW-ed by their interactions with us.

People Ready to Help

We’re curious, passionate, and committed to helping people.

  • Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organization. We have 1.35 million members in more than 45,000 clubs in more than 206 countries and geographic areas.
  • Lions have a dynamic history. Founded in 1917, we are best known for fighting blindness, but we also volunteer for many different kinds of community projects – including caring for the environment, feeding the hungry and aiding seniors and the disabled.
  • Lions give sight. By conducting vision screenings, equipping hospitals and clinics, distributing medicine and raising awareness of eye disease, Lions work toward their mission of providing vision for all. We have extended our commitment to sight conservation through countless local efforts and through our international Sight First Program which works to eradicate blindness.
  • Lions serve youth. Our community projects often support local children and schools through scholarships, recreation and mentoring. Internationally, we offer many programs, including the Peace Poster Contest, Youth Camps and Exchange and Lions Quest.
  • Our Leo Program provides the youth of the world with an opportunity for personal development through volunteering. There are approximately 144,000 Leos and 5,700 Leo clubs in more than 140 countries worldwide.
  • Lions award grants. Since 1968, the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) has awarded more than US$700 million in grants to support Lions humanitarian projects around the world. LCIF was also ranked the number one nongovernmental organization in a 2007 study byThe Financial Times.
  • Lions help during disasters. Together, our Foundation and Lions are helping communities following natural disasters by providing for immediate needs such as food, water, clothing and medical supplies – and aiding in long-term reconstruction.
  • Lions are active. Our motto is “We Serve.” Lions are part of a global service network, doing whatever is necessary to help our local communities.
